Down the Drain, an in-depth study of the history of London’s drainage right through to the current Tideway Project, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Sir Joseph Bazalgette.  

The U3A Network for South East Greater London and the London Metropolitan Archives will present this on 8th February 2019

The programme will include: 

  • Professor David Perrett, Chair of GLIAS
  • Nick Higham, journalist
  • Crossness Engines Trust with their twenty foot working model of the Crossness Pumping Station
  • The Education Department of the Tideway Project
  • And poetry (yes poetry) from the Keats House Poetry Ambassadors telling you everything you could ever wish to know about London’s sewers. 

Refreshments on arrival  and lunch are included in the ticket price.
