Under the direction of our experienced guide, Mick, we will see the ancient well and the village green; visit the sites of an infamous prison and two religious foundations; and hear why Pepys, Shakespeare, Dickens and Lenin all came here. We will also learn about the ancient Order of St John and how fresh water would be delivered to the growing population of London in the 1600s.

Travel and times. We meet at 1050 outside the main entrance of Farringdon Station for an 1100 start. We will finish about 1300 near the Angel station.

Cost . £7 each, payable in advance.
