For those who want to learn or brush up on embroidery skills, or more experienced stitchers who want to take their skills beyond cross stitch or patchwork, this group run largely as a self help group.  Tuition and support are provided by an enthusiastic textile artist and other group members with particular expertise.  A wide variety of methods are covered including hand and machine embroidery, applique, beading and multimedia to produce pictorial or abstract fabric art; 3D object d’art, clothing or home furnishing items (for example scarves, cushions, toys).  More advanced techniques such as dissolvable fabrics, felting, fabric dyeing, block printing and shibori are taught from time to time.  The aim is to produce both individual and joint projects, with a view to presenting a small show of the group’s work once every two years or so.  Members are expected to work in their own time between group meetings.  3rd Monday of each monthg
