Life Drawing and Portrait Studio

The Life Drawing and Portrait Studios are now being amalgamated into one group but it is our intention for each discipline to carry equal weight and be genuinely beneficial to our group members.

Suitable for those with some experience to very advanced. It is tutored by Michael, a very experienced teacher. A termly fee is payable for the model. We combine serious study with fun!

New Members: there are occasional spaces – contact Michael as above.

Of all the performing arts, dance is the one that has emerged as the most therapeutic when it comes to staving off mental and physical decline.  Want to exercise and have fun?  Come along to our dance session, meet new people and enjoy a great time!  All members welcome to our very friendly group.

Reading in Translation

Reading in Translation

We are a small friendly group who enjoy reading novels from other cultures.

The books are chosen by the members of the group in turn.

We start off with tea and a chat, followed by a lively discussion of our book.

Shape of London

The group studies London in all its aspects eg built environment, history and green spaces, from the earliest times to the present day.  Many of the members volunteer to give talks and lead walks on aspects of London but this is not compulsory.  The group is friendly and supportive and there is always time for questions and discussions.  We also sometimes invite guest speakers to address us.  The autumn and spring terms will be devoted to talks and discussions and there will be a series of walks and visits in the summer term.

Singing for Pleasure

Singing with others can be great fun. It is not only a pleasure but positively good for us. We sing familiar songs and learn new ones, singing in unison and harmony. We welcome new and existing members, with or without prior experience – we truly enjoy singing for pleasure.

There is a termly charge to pay for our professional pianist

Maxine Klein and a group of three others will lead the group.
